Here are some samples of projects we have managed or led over the years:
eRequest System (web based) Project…
Identified a global business need and then led an initiative, which designed, developed and implemented a system consolidating requests of services, such as network accounts, keys, parking passes etc. for new employees. Initially it was a MS Word form submission process. On the third year it was recreated and enhanced as an internal web application. Success was achieved by working closely with other service departments and the administrative assistants. The result is that new hires are equipped with the tools they need to be productive immediately upon arrival at the enterprise. Although this project had a low budget allocation, it was identified by senior management as a business critical system and has received ongoing executive support, endorsement and budget allocation for maintenance and upgrades.
MS Exchange/Outlook Project…
Designated project leader to replace legacy email and calendar systems with MS Exchange backend and Outlook client. Project included contracted consultants, a backend system with redundant hardware and software, deployment of Outlook to desktop PCs and coordination with the training centre to provide a staff training program. Replaced the proposed hard-copy manual set with an online web based version resulting in a $22,000 savings.
IT Department Web page…
Provided the leadership and project management to develop and transition this site through various technology changes spanning a ten year period. Based on my specifications, this team designed and developed a content management system to simplify the publishing of data to our web page.
Podcasting Tactical Plan…
A roadmap which identified Podcasting and other Web 2.0 technologies in alignment with school and Alberta Government educational strategic plans.
TLM project rescue…
Implemented project management best practices and S.M.A.R.T. project framework to bring a major learning management system project back on track. A working system was delivered on time and on budget. The transition from project to maintenance phase was seamless.
WebCT Upgrade Project…
As project leader for a major upgrade to a learning management system migrating from a flat file system to a MS-SQL based system we came in on time and on budget. This team also designed and implemented an automated transfer of data from the ERP system resulting in the elimination of manual intervention by the administrator, improving accuracy and timeliness of the insertion of student data into the WebCT system.
